Discover our Process

At NJPD we want our design process to be as unique as the space we're designing for you. This is why we developed our systematic design process to assist you in creating the yard of your dreams.

Initial Consultation

Our initial consultation serves as an opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to you, while you are able to share any photos or inspiration you may have for your design. We would ask for details about your property, photos to be uploaded, and a survey of the property.

Design Collaboration

Once you have been assigned a lead designer, the fun begins! This is where we get into full detail about your landscape design, talking about the problem areas of the yard and what design features will be included. We also discuss budget, timeline, and any other factors that are important to the project. The lead designer will serve as your point of contact throughout the entire project.

Finalize Design & Build

Upon completion of your design, we will contact you to discuss the plan. We will provide a brief tutorial explaining how to read and review your plans if you choose to DIY the project. We also have a network of contractors that we partner with and highly recommend. If any revisions need to be made (rarely more than one) now would be the time to do so.

When hiring NJPD you have designers who are passionate about Landscape Design. Having almost thirty years of experience in landscape design and hands-on experience in the field, it comes as no surprise that we are recognized as among the best landscape design studios in the New Jersey area.

In addition to providing you with professional designs, you also have full access to our network of qualified contractors. All of our contractors must meet certain criteria to even be considred part of our network. Working with our network streamlines the process and ensures that your project runs smoothly. We also waive the costs associated with construction site visits, material take-offs, and field data collection.
